New Publicity and Promotions Committee
A new committee has been established within the Ayrshire Cattle Society of Great Britain and Ireland. At the Annual General Meeting in May 25, the Council took the necessary steps to create a Publicity and Promotions Committee with the objective of enhancing the promotion of the breed and supporting the organisation’s publicity initiatives.
Joanna Billings of Bigginvale Ayrshires was duly elected as Chair and becomes an ex officio member of the breeds Council. Since her appointment, Jo has assembled a dedicated team comprising Mark Nicholls (Hilltown), Ian Hutchinson (Tontine), Linda Batty (Willowfields) and the current Junior President Elect, Robert Cornish (Butterbesley), with Duncan Hunter as the project’s coordinator.
The Committee has already enhanced its publicity efforts via the Society’s website and social media platforms and is currently pursuing further initiatives to promote both the breed and the organisation. For our first assignment, we need member cooperation.
A message from our Chair:
“As chair of the newly formed publicity committee, I would like to invite you to participate in our "BREEDER TESTIMONIAL" project.
For this project, we ask for up to three bullet points that highlight key attributes of your herd or a brief statement explaining your reasons for breeding Ayrshires (Up to 25 words)
Additionally, we request a photo of yourself or your family and a photo of your herd.
We will use these materials to create advertisements promoting the breed.
Participation from members helps us communicate information about the Ayrshire breed's characteristics, adaptability, and suitability for different systems and climates.
Whether Ayrshires are the only breed on a farm or managed alongside other breeds, member contributions about their experiences are valued.
We plan to compile all submissions and share them throughout the year with the goal of increasing awareness of Ayrshires' qualities among prospective breeders and producers.
Please submit to Duncan on either WhatsApp 07771 826403 or email to [email protected]
If you have any suggestions regarding breed promotion, please feel free to contact us”.
Jo Billings, Chair of Publicity and Promotions
