Judging Seminar at Beeline Ayrshires
A great crowd turned out for the Ayrshire judging seminar at Upper Lightwood Green Farm in Audlem, Crewe, Cheshire. Steve Bailey and his family gave Ayrshire breeders, members and friends a warm welcome for an enjoyable day of judging, learning and constructive conversation.
Everyone had the chance to judge two strong classes of heifers and cows. It was a great opportunity to learn from one another, compare opinions and enjoy plenty of good discussion along the way.
Well done to John Suffern, who had the highest score of the day, with Andrew Rimmer in second, Rob Kite in third and John Adamson in fourth. John Adamson also picked up the highest score for reasons, and several others achieved qualifying scores too. The consensus scoring sparked plenty of friendly debate and got everyone involved, while the excellent reason-giving showed just how high the standard of judging was throughout the day.
There were refreshments to enjoy throughout the day too, which everyone really appreciated and we thank the event sponsors, Massey Feeds.
To finish the day, visitors were invited to have a look around the Beeline herd. The cows looked fantastic, and everyone was impressed by their superior strength, great udders and tremendous legs and feet. It was the perfect way to round off such a successful and enjoyable seminar.
A big thank you goes to Steve, Rachel, Rob and the whole family for hosting the event and making everyone feel so welcome. Also to Wendy Young and her team for turning the cows out in great form. Thanks also to everyone who came along, joined in and helped make the day such a success.
