2021 Ayrshire Cattle Society On Farm Challenge

Today we announce the results of the cow having had 4 or 5 calves. We congratulate the Winners

1st prize is Rosehill Rock On Magenta by Kamouraska Rockstar owned by WRC & JE Christophers

2nd prize is Ravenhill Orlando Cissie by Ardmore Orlando owned by John Suffern

3rd prize is Stamford Charm 71 by Kamouraska Rockstar owned by H W Oultram & Co

Reasons from our judge. Among the six cows in their 4th and 5th lactations in class number 3, I finally picked Rosehill Rock on Magenta as my winner. Her dairyness accompanied by a silky, well-attached udder makes her a proud winner, but it is her slightly better strength and depth of rib that makes me choose her before the tall, long and extremely milky looking Ravenhill Orlando Cissie. I truly admire this cow’s width in her rear udder, which is the main reason to pick her over the correct Stamford Charm 71 in place 3. This cow looks to me like she could go on milking for ever, her perfect bone quality, depth of rib and fore udder attachment being her absolute highlights.
