Major technical features 
The organisers are working hard on developing their major technical features.  Here's a quick preview:
Forage Field
Forage Field is designed to help all livestock farmers to learn more about how to exploit the massive potential of homegrown forage, the most cost efficient feed.  This practical area, sponsored by Germinal, will be split into two with commentary throughout the two days.  Making more from grass:  the production potential of a new reseed will be demonstrated alongside old pasture, together with plots of five-year AberClaret red clover and Redstart hybrid brassica representing two of the more innovative alternative forage options now available.  Making more from silage:  reducing dry matter losses by up to 30% both pre and post clamping will be the focus of this hands-on demonstration featuring silage clamped in potato boxes and led by Silage Solution's Dave Davies.  He will also explain the importance of good clamp consolidation in order to achieve best clamp density and in turn, minimise losses.

Detailed attention to youngstock management will pay dividends later on - fact.  This practical demonstration will showcase a variety of feeding and housing systems including live calves in igloos, conventional and specialist buildings, all of which are designed to improve rearing efficiency of both dairy and beef calves.  The feature will be complemented by a series of valuable knowledge sharing seminars delivered by leading youngstock specialists discussing the latest in nutrition and management.
