There is no doubt that this is one of the most attractive Dispersal catalogues for an Ayrshire herd that there has been for some time. The Rosehill herd has been renowned for so many years and it presents a wonderful opportunity to get in to these long established genetics. The cows are in great form and there is no doubt that there is something to suit everyone in this Sale. The herd is managed on a simple grass/ grass silage system, with 2kgs of 25% blend in the winter ration added in the Keenan and topped up in parlour with 18% concentrate from Forfarmers. The milking herd is cubicle housed & milked through twice daily in herringbone parlour. The herd is all year-round calving, breeding has been mainly to Ayrshire bulls, predominantly from Cattle Services Ayr Ltd.
The current NMR herd average is: 115 cows, 7217 kgs, 4.41% F, 3.41% P. - 37 heifers 5660kgs, 4.60% F, 3.35% P.
Sale includes 40 heifers(9 VG 2yr), 30 2nd calvers, 19 3rd calvers, 8 4th calvers and 32 older cows. Herd Age There are 40 milking heifers, 30 second, 19 third, 8 fourth, 32 fifth plus calvers which demonstrates the longevity of the herd. The Herd was TB tested on 21.10.2024. All calves are tag and tested BVD (since 2013). The herd is vaccinated for Lepto and Johnes monitored with NMR herd tracker.
